Armlets are traditionally worn by women, though, nowadays even men flaunt these loving jewelry items. Normally worn is an ornamental band worn around the upper arm.
In the ancient era, armlets meant for both men and women were designed to look like a coiled snake or having creepers, crocodiles and lions etc. They formed an important item of the body ornaments. Not just in Indian Culture, they were worn by Native Americans as a symbol of compliance with the customs. In other civilizations different types of armlets were use to indicate their status in society.
